![]() ![]() Training That Matters: Our training needs to be more than just a box to check. Because it's not enough to just have a policy in place – we need to make sure it's doing its job. I want to talk about what we can do to fix this. It's a problem for all of us because when half of us are held back, everyone loses out. It's the small, everyday things - who gets promoted, who gets paid more, who's taken more seriously. It's not always the headline-grabbing incidents, either. How did we manage to miss the mark on something so fundamental? But when it comes to men and women being treated equally, it's like we're stuck in the past. We've got a ton of rules in place for everything else, and in many ways, they're working. Yep, in this day and age, gender discrimination is still the top issue. We've got rules to protect against almost every form of discrimination you can think of race, age, disability, you name it, and yet despite all these fancy policies, the most common form of discrimination at work today? It's like a badge of honour: "Look at us, standing against injustice!" And it's true, we've made great strides.
